Model No : Casio Watch G-9200-1DR
G-9200-1DR (G242)
Casio Computer Co., Ltd., announced the release of a new model in its highly shock-resistant G-SHOCK brand of watches. With a solar-powered system, the G-9200 is a revolutionary new watch in the RISEMAN series, a lineup which features both barometer and thermometer functions.
The RISEMAN series, first introduced in 1997, features two types of sensors - for pressure and temperature - in a shock-resistant G-SHOCK case. RISEMAN watches can measure altitude, atmospheric pressure and air temperature. The name of the series conveys a sense of high altitude, evoking the image of a person at the top of the highest peak.
The design of the G-9200 introduced today aims to achieve the ultimate in a wristwatch. As is fitting for yet another advance in the performance and functionality of the G-SHOCK series, the new RISEMAN adds two types of sensors to Casio?s Tough Solar high-capacity solar-charging system, which generates power even in the low light of a fluorescent lamp. The solar-powered system drives not only the timekeeping function, but also the altitude/atmospheric pressure and temperature measurement functions.
Casio has also improved the sensor-based measurement system itself. The G-9200?s altimeter can take measurements working together with the stopwatch, measuring recorded time together with altitude and differences in altitude, and recording into memory such factors as elapsed time, total ascent and descent altitude, and highest and lowest altitude. Capable of measuring altitude at five-second intervals, the watch is able to handle altitude changes over very short intervals of time. This function is very useful in sports that feature pronounced changes in altitude, such as rock climbing, mountain biking, and back country skiing. Not only that, a maximum of 20 manual altitude memory sets can be recorded, incorporating altitude and the time and date recorded for each set. Other highly practical functions include a pressure difference graphic that displays the latest trends in atmospheric pressure, and pace arrow indicators that graphically display the rate of ascent or descent.Engraved on the back of the case of this new RISEMAN model is an illustration of a dragon ascending to the sky, together with human figures taking on the challenges of altitude changes.
