Last year I reviewed Nerf N-Strike, a surprisingly fun, if slightly repetitive, kid-focused "light gun" style shooter. Electronic Arts bundled a unique, fully operational Nerf gun (the Switch Shot EX-3 to be exact) that doubled as a Wii accessory, a clever idea that definitely made it more than just a cash-in product.

The game sold well enough for EA to revisit in a follow-up sequel for the 2009 holiday season Nerf N-Strike Elite features similar light gun action but it's now in a fully immersive adventure. The younger crowd will definitely dig this one ? it's a more energetic game design than last year's and there's tons of unlockables and customization options. The action still feels a little lightweight but that's mostly attributed to the family friendly non-violent atmosphere, and the gameplay does tend to drag a bit in places
